Human Resources Manager

NPP Packaging Systems Limited is recruiting for an experienced HR manager to lead its people & HR Function. The company is a well-established supplier of packaging materials, machinery & equipment throughout Ireland and the UK, with head office in Coldwinters, and secondary office in Omagh. There are circa full time 125 employees.

The HR manager will be responsible for the management of the Group’s HR function: development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives consistent with and aligned to the group’s overall strategy. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the HR Manager will provide best in class HR operational support to the senior management team.

The role will be varied including but not limited to: Talent / Performance Management, Employee Relations, Engagement, Talent Acquisition and HR Operations.

Role & Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Formulate a progressive HR vision for NPP.
  • Lead the execution of HR strategies and initiatives to support the company’s strategic goals.
  • Maintain organizational design, re-structure and role design where required.
  • Design and lead employee engagement strategies with SMT and to build a positive and engaging work culture aligning with the core values.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and plan, manage & expedite projects.
  • Monitor and report using data driven results.
  • ·Building on NPP’s culture of training and employee engagement.

Functional Responsibilities – Recruitment, Training & Development

  • Develop and deliver overall talent acquisition solutions including future work force planning, talent attraction, on-boarding, retention and succession planning.
  • Advise on talent and people topics including compensation / benefits, retention, performance, and talent development.
  • Development of the senior and functional management team by way of training and coaching to improve management capabilities in the company.
  • Develop and design career and training initiatives.
  • Utilize employee engagement data to develop specific plans to positively impact employee engagement drivers.
  • Assess training and development needs of employees, developing supervisory training programs and maintaining training documentation.

HR Compliance

  • Maintain in depth knowledge of HR legal requirements ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Advise department managers and senior management on company policies and procedures regarding employment, compensation and employee relations.
  • Provide advice and guidance on issues such as disciplinary and grievance, absence, and performance management.
  • Lead communication with employees and represent employee viewpoints and concerns to management.
  • Work with the H & S officer to ensure compliance.
  • Liaise with EAP provider.

HR Operations

  • Manage the company HR Portal, Bright HR.
  • HR Admin; issue letters of offer, contracts etc.
  • Develop and plan an annual training plan and budget.
  • Co-ordinate and plan all company training activities.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection of all new employees.
  • Support the functional managers in the monitoring and evaluation of employee performance.


  • Educated to degree level.
  • 5 years of HR experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge and experience of Irish employment legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Influencing and excellent relationship building skills.
  • Strong commercial outlook.
  • Change orientated.
  • Strong Analytical and Reporting Skills.
