Flow Wrapping Equipment

Regular cleaning and lubrication keep them running smoothly. Compared to rotary machines with more moving parts, flow wrappers are relatively straightforward to maintain. NPP provides service support if you hit any issues.

Most models offer adjustable forming boxes and can switch between product sizes with some changeover time. You’ll need to swap out specific components and recalibrate settings, but you won’t need a completely different machine. This flexibility makes flow wrappers economical for manufacturers running multiple SKUs.

Unlike tray sealers or shrink wrap systems, flow wrappers create a sealed pouch around your product using a continuous film roll. The machine forms the film into a tube around the item, then seals it horizontally and cuts between products. It’s faster than most alternatives and uses less film, which cuts your material costs.

Flow wrappers excel at packaging bakery items like biscuits, cakes, and bread rolls, but they’re just as effective for dairy products, fresh produce, and meat portions. The key is having products with consistent dimensions that can move through the machine at steady intervals. Many pharmaceutical manufacturers also use them for medical device packaging where hygiene matters.
